Another successful Workday has come and gone! We want to thank everyone who came to Agape to help out the Community; it is greatly appreciated by all who visit!
Thank you to folks from Just Faith with Bill Toller (Holy Cross Parish, Longmeadow, MA); Ali and Omar Mahmoud; St. Joseph’s College students, Campus ministry and staff, Agape Mission Council members and other wonderful friends.
Special thanks to Pat Tracy of St. Joseph’s Campus Ministry for driving 12 people in a van from Long Island. Without Pat and the folks from St. Joe’s, we would not have the three cords of wood!
Thanks to Hazel Dardano, Mission Council member, for use of her truck and wood splitter while she is in El Salvador.
Thanks to Jim Robinson (Fordham University) and Tom Riley (Marlboro College); Sam Leuschner and Kate Carew, Mission Council, along with Teresa Wheeler, Jeanelle Wheeler, Williams Martinez (Agape summer intern), Dotty Gadosh, and valiant Agape handyman and wood cutter, chainsawer together with Brayton–Mike Hope.
Katherine Escobar, a student from St. Joseph’s who was here for the workday, shared these lovely words:
Coming to Agape I didn’t know what to expect, but now as I am making my departure, I can’t believe what Agape has done to me by opening my eyes, mind and heart. I feel like as I am leaving today Agape has done more for me than what I did during the work day. Thank you Suzanne, Brayton and Dixon for your hospitality and making this trip an incredible experience. There are some things that are unforgettable and these past four days were definitely moments in my life that I will never forget.Thank you, Katherine!
